Pruning for Production

I’ll prune your trees or shrubs for higher production, greater long-term health, and aesthetic beauty.  Winter pruning (in general) late February through early April; summer pruning June through August.

Orchard Management

Beyond winter and summer pruning, light year-round management supports optimal health and production in small and medium scale orchards.  Ex’s: weeding, mulching, interplanting with accumulator species, developing ground covers, diversification, building soil carbon and fertility, integrated pest management strategies.

I’ll perform a site assessment on your orchard (or even a single shrub or tree!) and together we’ll develop a management strategy that fits your goals, land, and budget.

Medicinal Crops

I’ve grown dozens of species of medicinal herb crops on a small farm scale.  I’ll help you integrate high-value medicinal plants into your garden, woodland, or small farm.

Regenerative Food Forestry

Design, installation, and management of diverse tree-crop systems that perform the following functions:

–Produce diverse, delicious, high-quality perennial food,

–Restore soil fertility and watershed integrity,

–Provide habitat for wildlife and beneficial insects,

–Sequester carbon in wood and soil,

–Connect people with their habitat and role as caretakers.

I’ll visit your land or garden site, have a thoughtful conversation with you about your visions and goals, and develop a design that fits your goals and budget as well as maximizing the health and diversity of your ecosystem.   I also offer installation services and customized seasonal management plans.
